Marcelo Coronado, was born in Lago Verde, in National Park´s lands. He is son of Raúl Coronado descendent of two of the first familys that inhabited Los Alerces National Park´s area around the year 1900.
Guide of the area and fishing guide dedicated to the activity for more than 15 years, he will be your guide in the excursión to the Torerecillas Glaciar and to the millenial Forest or Alerzal.
The navigation will be done in a 8 mts long truker for up to 12 passengers. Marcelo will be waiting for you at Lago Verde's shores, will give a brief description of the excursion you will undertake and will check all the equipment is in order. From Lago Verde you will ship headed to Puerto Mermoud, where you will make your first walk of the day of around 1000mts along the rapids of the Menéndez river up to Puerto Chucao.
Once in Puerto Chucao you will ship again. After a 40 minute navigation through the east branch of the Menéndez Lake, you will arrive to Puerto Nuevo at Toreccillas Hill´s base.
Marcelo will give you the low impact behaviour required to go through this pristine environment. You will ascend for one hour and a half following a mountain creek to its headwaters, El Antiguo Lagoon, resting at the base of the spectacular Torrecillas Glacier. While trekking, alerces, tineos and other trees of the valdiviana jungle will be seen. Marcelo will tell you the history of this beautiful place.

The tour begins in Lago Verde. Guided by Marcelo Coronado, a man deeply carved and raised by the National Park, you will cross the lake to get to Puerto Mermoud.
After a few minutes walk through the forest, where you can appreciate different kinds of vegetation, you will reach Puerto Chucao in the Menendez lake. Here you will board a new boat to start your way towards the Alerces forests.
After a pleasant navigation you will arrive to Puerto Sagrario, where you will start a trekking of magnificent scenery. You will appreciate the Lago cisne and the Río Cisnes and the incredible Lahuan, a millennial larch of approximately 2.600 years.
Being in front of this ancient creature of a 2,20 meters diameter and 57 meters high, is a unique experience that transcends time and allows you to connect with life in a different manner.
